Where C21st educators connect

Nintendo DS Lites in Primary Classroom

Another great example of a school using these devices to improve learning. I am sure that YR5 could manage to switch them on without this level of instruction from the teacher, I expect that this was just for the cameras. Use this to convince colleagues in your school to have a good, this is just too good to miss.

I would just like to back up Russell's comments, at St Edmunds School we have been using DS Lite's in Maths & English to help raise standards in Year 5 & 6 for about 9 months now. They have had a real positive impact to the childrens learning in lessons. We had a few issues of children nipping in to PictoChat (the DS wireless IM client) but we have now began to use that now as mini digital whiteboards in the class - the potential for this small low priced 'device' is certainly has advantages to teachers and pupils alike.

I agree with Mary that Class tools is great for starters and plenaries. It has a random name generator in the style of a typewritter and fruit machine. I use these regularly to pick names for pleanary questions. I have used 'wordle' to create word...
